Ahh...purchasing school uniforms! Chalk this task up to the list of “necessary evils” that accompany your child’s preparation for each school year. There are those dreaded trips to the mall or local stores to find the exact uniform specifications from your school. As you park, you keep hoping that the other parents haven’t already cleaned out the store’s inventory, AND if they have, you don’t have to experience the dreaded “wait” for the arrival of clothes that actually fit your child. As parents of school-aged children, we have not only stood in your shoes and experienced it all, we continue to be there with you each school year.
At one point, we thought, “There had to be a better way.” So, we put our heads together and wondered, “What if you could purchase all your school uniform needs and accessories in one place?” Better yet, “What if you could buy them all on-line and have them shipped directly to your home without having to brave the crowds and stores?” Even better, “What if a portion of your purchases then went back to your child’s school to improve his or her educational experience?” Then we realized, “Wow! That would also mean one less labor-intensive fundraiser we’d have to hold.” And that’s how StudentOutfitter.com was born.
StudentOutfitter.com was founded in 2010 by local Louisiana business partners Angelique & Scott Schultz, husband and wife team, and Jill Tate. This small group of business and education savvy entrepreneurs has worked hard to bring this innovative company to life so parents can purchase high-quality, economically priced school uniforms with greater ease, while supporting their kid’s school without having to undertake another labor-intensive fundraiser. In the future, the company plans to add more uniforms, additional accessories and even school supplies; however, as a start-up business, the team has begun conservatively—serving Livingston Parish and parts of East Baton Rouge and Ascension—to ensure orders are met, inventory is available and customers are satisfied. As the company gains support, plans are underway to grow quickly and eventually serve the Greater Baton Rouge region and ultimately the entire state of Louisiana.
